Admonishing others to trust a system that you yourself would not otherwise endorse because you feel they'll be as safe is a sign of privilege. 

Some who gain social privileges from their own trust of these systems were simultaneously seeking persons with which to contrast themselves... seeking examples of 'shameful' hesitancy to exploit in order to distract from how badly the system regularly harms some persons. There are multiple means of exploitation.

How we got in this messy world is ignoring too much for too long in and around us. Next time the powerful will crush even more people. What version of being a neighbor do you hope to impress by then... when those who decide things, decide it is time for more people to lose more rights? Power does not come from a vacuum, it is something taken from those of us below and those impatient to possess it seek to divide and rule by sowing the mistrust of the less powerful people we are.

Is that scheme to rule worth the neighborhood?
